چکیده
The taxonomic placements of Chaenomeles Lindl. (Rosaceae) and their intrageneric species have long been controversial. This research aims to explore the palynomorphological characters all extant in detail compare results with phylogenetic relationships classification scheme. pollen morphology 30 individuals six taxa was investigated using both light microscopy scanning electron microscopy. pollens were measured, observed statistically analyzed for 12 quantitative features 2 qualitative ones. study revealed that are monad, tri-colporate, medium size (P = 32.78–42.74 μm, E 30.42–36.31 μm) prolatespheroidal subprolate shape (P/E 0.98–1.35). Based on exine ornamentation under SEM, two sexine sculpture types (type I—striate microperforations, type II—striate macroperforations) subtypes (twisted-striate, reticulate-striate) recognized genus. Statistical analysis identified some characteristics diagnostic importance, including shape, colpus dimension, length or direction striae diameter perforation. These may value genus family Rosaceae. An artificial key studied species, based micromorphological attributes, is also provided. obtained result basically consistent molecular studies published earlier. study, first time, provides palynological evidence hybrid origin hypothesis C. sinensis supports placement this monotypic Pseudocydonia.

pollen morphology of the genus malus (rosaceae)
pollen morphology of some species of the genus malus (rosaceae) was investigatedtaxonomically. all species are characteristic by tricolpate pollens. exine sculpturing is variable but is mostlystriate. however, species may differ in degree of density of ridges and their orientation. the exine patterns inm. trilobata and m. florentina are very similar and were characterized by short and very bran...
متن کاملThe importance of palynology in the taxonomy of genus Silene, based on pollen morphology
In this study, the palynology of 33 species of Silene belonging to 15 sections was investigated to examine the correspondence between palynology, morphological sections and phylogenetic trees. The pollen grains were prepared using the acetolysis method. Quantitative and qualitative micromorphological features of pollens were investigated using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy....

15 صفحه اولPollen Morphology and Its Relationship to Taxonomy of the Genus Sarracenia (Sarraceniaceae)
Despite nearly a century of research, the systematic relationships among North American pitcher plants in the genus Sarracenia (Sarraceniaceae) remain unresolved. In this study we analyzed pollen morphology of the 11 currently recognized species of Sarracenia and examined how variations in key pollen characteristics relate to our current understanding of the taxonomy of this genus. We used prin...
متن کاملGenetic relationships in Chaenomeles (Rosaceae) revealed by isozyme analysis
Genetic relationships were studied among four taxa in the genus Chaenomeles using isozyme analysis. The band patterns obtained with six polymorphic isozyme systems provided 108 reliable markers, which were scored as unordered multistate traits. A cluster analysis as well as a multidimensional scaling analysis grouped the taxa in agreement with previously published results obtained with RAPD (ra...
